"Women Farmers & Rural Women Entrepreneurs – Potential to fully participate in the Green Deal" - Online Event on Kudo

Copa Cogeca and Women Entrepreneurship Platform co-organise the online event "Women Farmers & Rural Women Entrepreneurs – Potential to fully participate in the Green Deal".
Our online event will take place on Kudo, on 14th March, at 10.00 - 12.00 and it will be in EN,PL,DE,ES,IT,FR,RO (the 2nd photo will help you in using Kudo) !! Concept: The purpose of this event is to raise the profile on the problem of the actual and potential capability for women farmers and rural women entrepreneurs to contribute to the Green Deal. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing us today. Political initiatives, such as the Green Deal, the European Climate Law, and the Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategies, pave the way for the EU’s ambition to become climate resilient by 2050. The discussion will focus on the existing problems, potential opportunities, and specific measures - including policies and programs - that need to be taken now to allow rural women entrepreneurs and women farmers to fully participate in the green transition, thereby ensuring the success of the Green Deal. The participation of women on the Green Deal: "Opportunity for an exonomic emancipation"
On the 9th of December 2021 the online event “The participation of women to the Green Deal: Opportunity for an economic emancipation” took place. The event was organized by WEP and it was part of the Conference of the Future of Europe.
The aim of the event was to present in Italy the results obtained through the WISE4AllChallenges project on green and rural issues.
The topic was the empowerment of rural women and women entrepreneurs in agriculture.
Members of WEP (Grazia Rendo - Vice President of WEP, @Charlene Lambert -Treasurer of WEP, @Sara Montersino - WEP) presented its intent to increase and strengthen women's participation and involvement in European policy-making, to integrate women's needs into European policies (environment, social policies, health, education and digital) in an interdisciplinary way and to enable WISE4All partners to participate in the Future of Europe Conference.

Boosting women entrepreneurship in Europe alongside new partner Airbnb

Airbnb and WEP organised a joint cocktail lunch to celebrate the newly created collaboration in view of boosting female entrepreneurship in Europe, welcoming MEP Claudia Tapardel as main host. Together, WEP and Airbnb hope to organise multiple workshops across Europe to share resources and toolkits to better support female entrepreneurs who are interested in using the Airbnb platform to start or grow their businesses. We had the honour of having MEP Claudia Tapardel as the main supporter of the event, a long defender of women entrepreneurship. This comes as Airbnb and WEP commit to working together to empower and connect more women entrepreneurs via our new partnership. |
Inclusive Female Entrepreneurship & Impact on Job Creation
A policy briefing alongside partner Seldia

Alongside partner Seldia, WEP organised a high-level policy briefing on "Inclusive Female Entrepreneurship & the Impact on Job Creation", which was held in a lunch format at the European Parliament. The event explored the components of entrepreneurship programs at EU-wide level and its regional policies and how policy can support inclusive entrepreneurship by connecting under-represented and disadvantaged groups with local business communities. Marlene Mizzi MEP kindly hosted the event - other speakers included Maria Gabriela Zoana MEP, Dana Adriana Puia Morel (DG Growth), Aslihan Tekin (KAGIDER/WEP), Emma Sneddon (Entrepreneur) and moderator Diana Filip (JA Europe). Work/Life Balance for All - Ensuring the Right Legal and Political Framework alongside partner Deloitte and the Brussels Binder

WEP organised a lunch briefing on Work/Life Balance for all: Ensuring the right legal and political framework alongside partner Deloitte and the Brussels Binder at the European Parliament on 21st November 2018. The debate was the occasion to discuss benefits for female entrepreneurs and wider society. Speakers included Renate Weber MEP, Clare Moody MEP, Katarina Ivankovic-Knezevic (DG Employment), Emma Codd (Deloitte UK), Riikka-Maria Turkia (Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU) and moderator Mary Collins (European Women's Lobby).
Boosting skills across Europe - The Role of Lifelong Learning for Women Entrepreneurs

On December 5th, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform organised a high-level dinner briefing in the European Parliament hosted by Anna Maria Corazza Bildt, MEP. The dinner explored the role of lifelong learning for women entrepreneurs. Ms Corazza Bildt introduced the topic and its importance to promote social mobility and the particular role it plays for women entrepreneurs.
Ms Caroline Jenner, WEP member and CEO of Junior Achievement Europe gave an overview of the activities of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform. Ms Suzanne Conze, from the European Commission highlighted the current and future initiatives by the Commission in terms of Erasmus+ and the lifelong learning programme. Ms Andersson, CEO of Oriflame Scandinavia gave an overview of the different programmes available to female employees to help them strive. Ms Britt-Marie Torstensson, of Winnet Sweden and Ms Katja Legisa, from the Digital Leadership Institute gave an overview of their organisations' efforts to promote lifelong learning among women entrepreneurs. WEP and IGWE Event - Innovation in Women's Digital Entrepreneurship

WEP and MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen are organising an event in the European Parliament on the 22 November, 9:30 - 11:30, on digitalization and women entrepreneurs. Against the backdrop of the Estonian presidency’s focus on digitalization and initiatives of the Commission to support women entrepreneurship, this event will make for a timely and interesting discussion on support to the innovation and financing of women entrepreneurs. What are lessons learned and where do we go from here to support women entrepreneurs?
The discussion was led by a high-level panel with Ms Hélène Diane Dage, Deputy Head of Unit, European Commission as well as Cheryl Miller, Digital Leadership Institute, Frank Markovic, Business Angels Europe and Anastasia Fetsi, European Training Foundation.

Entrepreneurship/Intrapreneurship - Why Networking is Essential for Women to Develop and Grow their Business

WEP organised a breakfast debate entitled “Entrepreneurship/Intrapreneurship - why networking is essential for women to develop and grow their business” organized in collaboration with Deloitte France, at the European Parliament. Ambassadors and diplomats, university professors, business professionals, and women entrepreneurs attended the lively panel discussion held on Monday, November 21, in The Hague’s Europe House. The event was organized by WEP in collaboration with the Directorate General for Neighbourhood Enlargement (DG NEAR), and with the support of the Women’s Business Initiative International (WBII). WEP Chairwoman Grazia Rendo was one of the panelists, while WEP Treasurer Charlene Lambert opened and chaired the session. Read more...
